Delivery Details
Deliveries are made using a tail-lift and hand maneuvered pump truck. Unfortunately we cannot deliver onto a gravel driveway. Please be aware that if you cancel your order once it has left our hub the customer is liable for a transport and administration charge of £30 each way.
High Quality Topsoil ideal for laying our Garden Lawn Turf
The earth’s crust is divided into three layers — the topsoil, the subsoil and the bedrock. Since the topsoil is the uppermost layer, it is naturally the content of this part that is of most concern to gardeners and farmers, who can buy commercially-improved topsoil from Valley Contractors. All plants that have short roots get their food from the topsoil, which extends about 25 cm below the surface.
Lawn Lay Mix topsoil is one of the best for when laying out lawn turf. It contains everything that good topsoil should contain and then some, including bacteria that help plants to grow. All of the basic nutrients required by plants are also present in Lawn Lay Mix topsoil, and in their proper proportions; they include magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, manganese, copper, zinc and various bases. The ideal pH level for topsoil ranges from 5.8 to 6.2, and so we measure it to make sure that it is at that level. We make Lawn Lay Mix topsoil by mixing sandy soil and compost together at a ratio of three to two. Another big plus for this product is that it improves drainage. Many other topsoil also offer these advantages, but they are more expensive.
We have designed our Lawn Lay Mix topsoil especially so that you will have a minimum amount of work to do yourself when you lay new lawn turf. Basically, all that you have to do is spread the Lawn Lay Mix topsoil on top of the existing layer of dirt to the depth specified on the package. The soil is easy to level. That done, just simply lay your turf and water twice daily for at least a week afterwards.
This product does contain stones up-to 20mm so therefore is not ideal for seeding.
Each Bulk Bag of Top Soil will cover approx 12 m2 40mm depth.
